Many organizations made changes to their c-suite in December, 2023. Following are ten (10) COOs that have accepted new positions.
Boeing Names Stephanie Pope as New COO
Boeing has named longtime company veteran Stephanie Pope as its new COO and EVP, effective January 1, 2024. In the new role, Pope will oversee Boeing’s supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and engineering efforts. She will report to President and CEO Dave Calhoun.
Fifth Third Bank names Jamie Leonard as New COO
Fifth Third Bank’s financial chief will become its operations chief, and its treasurer will become its financial chief in a C-suite reshuffling slated for January 2, 2024. Current CFO Jamie Leonard will move roles to oversee the bank’s largest customer-facing employee groups, including those in retail banking, consumer lending, operations, business controls, strategy, and marketing. No stranger to change, he’s held several leadership roles — including chief risk officer — in his more than two decades at the bank.
Sprinkles Names Justin Murakami as New COO
Sprinkles and Picnik Restaurants named Justin Murakami as COO. Sprinkles is a cupcake brand with over 70 units, which operates out of a combination of bakeries and so-called cupcake “ATMs,” or branded cupcake vending machines. Picnik operates several restaurants in major cities in Texas. Murakami joined Sprinkles in 2017 as a regional manager, eventually climbing to the post of SVP of operations in 2021.
TGI Fridays Names Ray Risley as New COO
TGI Fridays hired Ray Risley as U.S. president and COO. Risley joins the chain after serving as CEO of Via 313 Pizzeria for a little over a year, where he doubled the chain’s restaurant count and helped prepare the company for future expansion. He also has experience as president and COO of Front Burner Society, where he helped grow the Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar brand.
Talos Energy Names John Spath as New COO
Talos Energy terminated its operating chief Robert Abendschein and named a new head of operations for the company. The company named Senior Vice President of Operations John Spath as executive vice president and head of operations. Talos said Spath would be responsible for the company’s upstream business operations. Spath joined the company in May 2013 and has held the roles of senior vice president of production operations and vice president of production operations.
WeWork Names Claudio Hidalgo as COO
Shared office space provider WeWork Inc has appointed insider Claudio Hidalgo as chief operating officer. Hidalgo served as the company’s COO Americas between June and November this year and was COO Latin America from April 2020 to August 2022. He succeeds Anthony Yazbeck, who stepped down from his role in October.
IFS Names Max Roberts as New COO
The global cloud enterprise software company named Max Roberts as chief operating officer. Roberts joins IFS from Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, where he was CEO, leading the organization through significant growth. His has spent 25 years in the technology sector, and specifically the enterprise software space, where he held a wide variety of leadership positions at Oracle, Salesforce, and Stripe.
Presto Automation Names Kat Hoffman-Flynt as New COO
Presto Automation, an enterprise-grade AI and automation solutions provider, said on Friday that it had appointed Kat Hoffman-Flynt as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. Hoffman-Flynt has more than 20 years of experience as an operational strategist. Hoffman-Flynt became part of Presto’s team in 2019, assuming the role of Senior Director of Strategic Projects.
Second Harvest Food Bank Names Chrislynn VanSkiver as New COO
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is pleased to announce that Chrislynn VanSkiver has been named Chief Operating Officer. In her new role, VanSkiver will lead a team of 68 employees. VanSkiver brings 17 years of leadership experience in operations, volunteer engagement and fund development. In her most recent role as Second Harvest’s Director of Operations, she was responsible for overseeing land development, construction, facility upgrades and repairs for the organization’s 121,000-square-foot facility. She helped launch and direct the workflow, resources, and labor management of the 40-acre Harvest Solutions Farm partnership.
Placemakr Names Ryan Rickabaugh as First COO
Placemakr, a flexible-use hospitality and multi-family operator, has named Ryan Rickabaugh its first COO. In addition, it has expanded its national presence with the planned opening of The Maverick, powered by Placemakr, in San Antonio. In his position as COO, Rickabaugh will oversee all commercial and property operations for the organization.
